A comfortable stroke starts here
The right table.
The room to play.
Start with your room dimensions and cue length, then measure the table’s playing surface. These two checks help avoid surprises on installation day.
01 / Check your room
Leave room for the cue.
Use the column for the cue length you expect to play with. Dimensions below are room width × room length, transcribed from the reference chart.
On a narrow screen, swipe the table sideways to compare all cue lengths.
| Table size | 48″ cue | 52″ cue | 58″ cue |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7-foot | 11′ 6″ × 14′ 6″ | 12′ × 15′ | 13′ × 16′ |
| 8-foot | 12′ × 15′ 6″ | 12′ 6″ × 16′ | 13′ 6″ × 17′ |
| 9-foot | 12′ 6″ × 16′ 6″ | 13′ × 17′ | 14′ × 18′ |
Measure the usable space.
Account for furniture, columns, door swings and other obstacles on every side. A shorter cue can help in a tight spot, but the room should suit the way you want to play.
These are planning minimums, not a guarantee of clearance. Actual playing surfaces vary by model; leave additional space for your stance, backswing and movement around the table.

02 / Identify your table
Measure cushion nose to cushion nose.
Measure the inside playing area, from the tip of one cushion to the opposite cushion. Record both width and length. The outer cabinet and rail edges are not the playing-surface measurement.
| Table type | Playing surface (width × length) |
|---|---|
| 7-foot standard bar table | 38″ × 76″ |
| 7-foot Diamond | 40″ × 80″ |
| 8-foot home table | 44″ × 88″ |
| Pro 8 / oversized 8-foot | 46″ × 92″ |
| 9-foot table | 50″ × 100″ |
| 10-foot carom / American snooker | 56″ × 112″ |
| 12-foot English snooker | 69½″ × 139″ |
